Frequently Asked Questions
Where exactly are you located?
The office is in the Northern Lights building, an apartment building with commercial space on the first floor, just north of the The Lights in West Fargo. We are suite 105 in “the alley” behind The Lights parking garage. Parking is available in reserved space #3 or any other unmarked space nearby or in the parking garage.
Do you take my insurance?
Currently, I can accept Sanford Health Plan, Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota and self-pay clients. I am in the process of contracting with North Dakota Medicaid and Medicaid Expansion and will update as things progress. Individual plans vary greatly as far as co-pays, deductibles, etc. so I highly suggest calling your insurance company for specific coverage details prior to scheduling. If I am not contracted with your insurance, a self-pay rate is always available.
How does the No Surprises Act affect me?
The No Surprise Act provides upfront pricing transparency in medical billing. All rates can be found on the services page.
How long is this going to take?
Therapy is a very individualized thing, so this is a difficult question to answer, and a lot of it depends on you. Like most things, you get out of it what you put into it. The more honest you are with yourself and your therapist as we move through the therapeutic process, the more efficient the process will be.
Can I do this thing on my phone instead of coming into your office?
Absolutely! Telehealth and in-person sessions are both offered. In fact, I offer both on alternating weeks, so we can fit you into whichever works best for your schedule and situation.
What can I expect during the first session?
I completely understand that the whole idea of beginning therapy can be intimidating in itself, so alleviating some of that uncertainty can be helpful. Prior to your first appointment, you will get an email with a whole lot of questions that you’ll complete before your session. That information is important as we move forward and many therapists go through it extensively before that first appointment. However, I like to meet my clients first and then go back through that initial paperwork, so you’ll walk into your first session with a “clean slate.” The hope is that you feel welcome as you begin this process so any expectation of white coats or a super formal setting can be tossed out the window. I practice in a casual atmosphere, usually with a cup of coffee in my hand and will happily offer to make you one as well.
